Taking a digital idea into national television — and building the production system to sustain it.
When Open Book – Ανοιχτό Βιβλίο premiered on ERT in November 2024, its ambition was unusual for Greek television: to create a contemporary cultural programme devoted entirely to books, authors and the modern Greek publishing world.
Presented by Yiannis Sarakatsanis, the programme developed from an existing digital audience into a fully realised television format.
Ace House Productions undertook the production across two seasons and 22 episodes, creating a repeatable production pipeline capable of supporting the very different requirements of a weekly cultural television programme.

Each episode combined studio and multi-camera production with interviews, location filming, editorial segments and stories from across Greece's literary ecosystem.
The production therefore demanded much more than a consistent visual language. It required coordination between editorial, direction, cinematography, field crews, sound, post-production, graphics and delivery — repeatedly, across an entire television season.
ERT described the programme at launch as part of its primetime cultural programming, created to approach the promotion of reading with a fresher television language.
For Ace House Productions, Open Book became much more than another television credit.
It demonstrated our ability to design, execute and maintain a long-form recurring broadcast production, while preserving consistency across dozens of individual stories, locations and contributors.
